Greek Investor in Favor of Tsipras' Resignation

Axia Founding Partner George Linatsas
“We are in favor of ‘Yes’ because that’s the only way for hope and future for the Greek people,” Founding Partner, Group Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee of AXIA Ventures Group, George Linatsas, told CNBC’s journalist Michelle Caruso-Cabrera on Thursday, expressing his support for the “Yes” campaign in the upcoming national referendum in Greece.
Linatsas did not hesitate to tell the CNBC reporter that he proposes Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to resign in case Greeks answer positively during the July 5 referendum over the international creditors’ aid package.
“I, as a Greek citizen, expect the Prime Minister of Greece -because he’s campaigning in favor of a ‘No’- if it’s an overwhelming ‘Yes’ or if it’s a ‘Yes’ in any case … [to] resign,” Linatsas said.
He also underlined that in order for Greece to be able to accept further financial assistance, the Greek government is obliged to accept an effective reform package.
