Larnaka FestivalThe Larnaka Festival in Cyprus was honored with the EFFE Label 2015-2016 as one of Europe’s finest festivals.
EFFE (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe), initiated by the European Festivals Association, is the guide for citizens and the platform for professionals to discover and get involved in Europe’s festivals.
It is a new international festival platform connecting festivals that are deeply committed to the arts, their communities and Europe.

Following a process of intense evaluation by national experts and an international jury, 761 festivals from 31 countries have been selected to be part of the first generation of EFFE Label recipients.
According to a press release by the Larnaka Municipality, the summer Festival of the Municipality of Larnaka was distinguished as one of the most qualitative European Festivals for 2015-2016, among 761 festivals from 31 countries.
The Larnaka Festival, which first began in 1985, lasts one whole month (in July every year) and includes cultural events at the port of Ancient Kition, the Medieval Castle, the Old Aqueduct and the Pattichion Municipal Amphitheatre.
