Greekment: Donald Tusk Adds New Lingo to the Greek Crisis

After striking a deal with Greece last night, European leaders will look to successfully materialize this “Greekment.”
European Council President Donald Tusk was the first official to speak after almost 17 hours of hard talks among Europe’s top officials that led to a consensus on a 86 billion euro bailout package deal for Greece.
“Today we had only one objective. To reach an agreement. After 17 hours of negotiations we have finally reached it. Someone can say that we have a Greekment,” he said during a press conference. “Leaders have agreed in principle they are ready to start negotiations on an ESM program which in other words means continued support for Greece.”
The word comes after the officially adopted Grexit and the more recently introduced Graccident. It is notably meant to be a positive term, in contrast to the previous two that had negative connotations, and Tusk said it prevented significant political, financial and social costs.
However, as the European Council President pointed out in the same conference, there are tough conditions for this support to Greece and the Eurozone parliaments will have to officially endorse the deal.
