A French tourist was arrested on Saturday while on holidays on the Greek island of Rhodes for allegedly taking photos of one of the island’s military installations.
The 49-year-old woman, who is said to have arrived on Rhodes on Wednesday with her husband and two children, told police that she was unaware that the area was off-bounds.
A local prosecutor will decide on Sunday whether she will be formally charged over the incident.
Greece rigorously maintains a no-photography rule at its military installations, especially on Aegean Sea islands in close proximity to Turkey.
