The European Commission has warned Greece that even though the draft deal has been signed, it still requires the approval of European leaders to be completed.
“What we have at the moment is a technical level agreement… and small details need to be finalized. What we don’t have is a political agreement,” Commission spokeswoman Annika Breidthardt said.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will speak later on Tuesday with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel regarding the deal.
The Commission official refused to say which parts of the agreement are still under discussion.
Reportedly, there will be telephone contacts between the European Commission and finance officials of all 28 EU countries, and not just the 19 Eurozone member-states.
