The Greek Men’s National Basketball Team achieved a resilient comeback in the final minutes of the game against Croatia, to overcome their rivals with a 72-70 victory in their second FIBA Eurobasket 2015 game.
The Greeks had been behind in the score throughout the game, with the Croatians having won the first three periods. Six minutes into the fourth period, the Greeks rallied from a 61-65 deficit to claim the victory in Zagreb.
The evening’s stand out performance came from Vasilis Spanoulis who scored 16 points during crucial moments of the game and had six assists and four rebounds. Giannis Mpourousis scored 11 points and assisted five times while Kostas Koufos also had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Greece is now leading Group C and will face Georgia on September 8.
