Greek Migration Policy Minister: Two More Migrant Reception Centres to Open in Greece

Migrant Reception CentresGreek Alternate Migration Policy Minister Giannis Mouzalas announced that the Greek government will create two additional migrant reception and registration centres in Greece, Kathimerini newspaper reports.
One of the alleged centres will be in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. The other will be at an old factory at the area of Laurio, which is located close to Athens. This second centre will have an estimated capacity of 500-700 people.
Kathimerini further claims that Mouzalas told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency that the Greek government has been in communication with local authorities in search of how to best create these reception centres.
“However, it is clear that we are not going to play the game, that the refugees are good provided that they are not here…We are not going to make a fool out of anyone. We will not say things we will not do. But this has to happen and it will happen. Refugees need to be hosted,” Mouzalas is quoted as saying.
Kathimerini further claims that Mouzalas said that a reception centre in the city of Athens is expected to open in at least three weeks.
