Greek Police Uncover Weapon Stash in Attica

policeGreek Police discovered a weapon stash in a warehouse on Marathonos Avenue, Attica close to Athens.
Police found rocket launchers, kalasnikov guns, handguns and hand grenades inside the warehouse, according to Greek media reports. Six cars, two motorcycles and one truck were also located outside the building.
Kathimerini newspaper reports that the building had been rented out by Spiros Dravilas, one of the four individuals who had carried out a bank robbery in Distomo on August 22, 2014. Apparently, Dravilas committed suicide on May 29 2015, anticipating that the Greek Police were about to raid the house he and two of the other robbers, were in.
Giorgos Petrakakos, the fourth member of the robbers’ group, was arrested a few days ago.
Greek police have yet to inform of a connection between the weapons discovered and previous incidents.
