Greek PM Open to Turkish Cooperation on Refugee Crisis

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras claimed he is willing to cooperate with Turkey, during his remarks on Thursday at the European Union summit in Brussels, that will seek to provide solutions to the refugee crisis.
Greece is ready to cooperate with Turkey, always based on international law within the context of the accession process of Turkey with the European Union,” he said.
Tsipras also called on Thursday’s summit to generate solutions to the refugee crisis as well as the crisis in Syria.
Greece’s relationship with Turkey has come to the forefront yet again as European leaders like German government spokesperson Steffen Seibert and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker called for joint sea patrols by the neighbouring countries. On Thursday, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kontzias reiterated the Greek opposition to this proposal.
