Two Refugees Found Dead in Aegean Sea, Greece

migrantsA boat capsized near the Greek island of Lesvos on Monday October 26 around 7am, leading to the death of a woman just off the coast of Mytilene, Greece. The plastic vessel was carrying an unknown number of refugee and migrant passengers, when it was hit by a storm and crashed into rocks near the coast.
Men of the Greek coast guard rushed to the scene, along with volunteers who helped carry the unfortunate woman’s body to shore. They were also able to save 35 men, women and children.
A similar tragedy took place early in the morning on Sunday, October 25, a mile and a half north of Kara Tepe when the strong winds hit the plastic vessel pushing it into the rocky coast. As a result three people lost their lives, an infant, a six-year-old girl and a woman. Furthermore, another 7 people are still missing 24 hours later.
Meanwhile, another man was found dead on the eastern Aegean Sea island of Chios, early on Monday morning, as thousands of people continue to cross over from Turkey in frail boats seeking a better life in Europe, noted Associated Press.
