Cypriot President Discusses Cyprus Problem with Greek Foreign Minister

kotziasCyprus’s President Nicos Anastasiades met with Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias on Tuesday to discuss, among others developments, the Cyprus problem.
“The Republic of Cyprus has the will, the ability and the capacity to fight for the promotion of a just solution to the Cyprus problem and has our full support,” said Kotzias.
Commenting on the view that Greece, because of its economic situation, is in an unfavorable position to influence developments in the Cyprus problem, he said: “By no means does the economic weakness reduce our strategic importance and the ability and capacity to exercise foreign policy.”
“We try to have a high level of foreign policy,” he underlined.
Referring to his contacts in Nicosia this weekend, the Greek minister noted that the cooperation between Greece and Cyprus has become more meaningful, detailed and specialized.
“It is a big step in the cooperation between the two states,” he said.
