Greek Alternate Min for Migration: The Results from a Very Difficult Negotiation were Positive

mouzalas“We came back from a very difficult negotiation and we consider that we have had positive results,” Greek Alternate Minister for Migration Yiannis Mouzalas said late on Monday
He noted that Greece rejected the proposal to set up a camp that would host 50,000-60,000 persons on the grounds that such camps have ceased to exist since the World War II.
“We faced a lot of difficulties, but we succeeded,” he underlined.
He explained that the 30,000 temporary hotspots are based on a plan of the previous government. More specifically, the plan provides for 7,000 hotspots of short-term accommodation on islands, 3,000 hotspots of temporary accommodation in Athens as well as the creation of two additional hotspots of temporary accommodation for 20,000 refugees.
