The body of a 61-year-old male was discovered on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Kifisia in Northern Attica.
The fire department pulled the man out of the Cheleidonous stream where they realized that he had passed away. Greek media report that the fire department is attributing his death to the severe weather conditions that hit Attica five days ago. Heavy rainfall resulted in floods which led to the death of two other people.
The 61-year-old has yet to be identified. However, Greek media report that a man’s estranged wife reported to police on Tuesday that he has disappeared since Thursday. The fire department found the deceased man’s car before discovering his body around 500 meters away from it.
