refugees-piraeusTwo ferries from Mytilene and Chios carrying 3,000 refugees are expected to arrive at Piraeus port on Friday after the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) suspended its strike.
“Tera jet” ferry departed from the port of Mytilene at 8 am with 1,740 refugees on board and “Blue Star Patmos” left at 6 am with 1,400 refugees. Another ferry, “Blue Star 1” carrying 1,430 refugees is expected to leave from Mytilene at 8 pm.
In an effort to decongest the situation at the port of Mytilene, “Champion Jet” ferry will also transfer refugees from Mytilene to Kavala.
