24-hour Strike to Disrupt Public Transport in Athens on Thursday

syllalhtrhio-gsee-4611The greater Athens area will be without metro transportation, its suburban rail line and regular train routes on Thursday (Nov. 12) as unions representing the respective workforces in the mass transportation sector have declared a 24-hour strike. The industrial action is part of the one-day strike declared by Greece ’s two biggest unions, GSEE and ADEDY.
Employees of the tram network, the urban railway (ISAP), urban buses and trolleys will hold work stoppages: The urban railway and tram will stop from the start of the shift until 10 am (local time) and from 4 pm until the end of the shift, while buses and trolleys will not operate from 5 am until 9 am and from 9 pm until the end of the shift.
