Cypriot Military BaseUnited Kingdom’s Prime Minister, David Cameron announced on Monday that he has decided to allow the French air force to operate out of the Royal Air Force base in Akrotiri, Cyprus, in order to facilitate counter- ISIL operations.
France’s military aircrafts took off from an aircraft carrier located in the East Aegean Sea to hit ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq. The terrorist organisation attacked the city of Paris on November 13, leaving 129 people dead and many injured.
Speaking during a joint press conference with French President Francois Hollande in Paris, Cameron also noted that the French air force operating from the Cypriot base will be provided with gas to fuel their aircrafts.
