There Have not Been Any Refugees Arrivals at the Island of Lesvos on Monday

refugees-lesvosGreek Police reported something that is difficult to believe for anyone paying attention to the ongoing refugee crisis these past few months: there has not been a single refugee or migrant arrival at the East Aegean island of Lesvos on Monday so far.
The Athens Macedonian News Agency cites Greek police officials who claim that since Sunday evening until Monday midday there had not been any reported refugees or migrants arriving at the island.
This is a noteworthy observation as Lesvos has received over 406,000 refugees and migrants since the beginning of 2015 according to the United Nations Refugee Agency. That is more than half of the 703,000 people who have arrived in Greece throughout this calendar year. Thousands of people have been reaching the island’s shores on a daily basis for the past few months. On November 13th, the UNHCR reported that more than of 3,000 people are arriving on the island of Lesvos, on average, each day.
