Burglars Kill and Burn Two People in Greece

peripoliko603_319136677Greek Police found the incinerated bodies of a man and a woman in their home on the island of Aegina early Tuesday morning.
A 71-year-old woman and her 44-year-old nephew were found with third degree burnsĀ at their home in Agioi Asomatoi village on Aegina.
According to police, the perpetrators broke the window with a rock and entered the house of the woman and her nephew. They proceeded to tie up the two victims, lock them in a room and set them on fire.
Initially, neighbors reported the fire to the Fire Department late on Monday night. The fire was not strong and it only caused minor damages to the house. This led the police to believe that the victims were burnt to death.
The disarray in the house hints at burglary, as police said. It is estimated that the burglars wanted to eliminate evidence, set the victims on fire and then tried to burn the whole house down.
