The Greek Government accused the opposition parties of refusing to support the government’s efforts in the insurance reforms after the European Commission Vice President  Valdis Dobrovskis’ recent statements.
The Vice President of the Commission left open the possibility of the IMF leaving and finding a European solution to the Greek program. Dobrovskis also appeared open to the possibility of finding equivalents to the insurance reforms instead of pension cuts.
Specifically the government statement reads “The opposition prefers to falsely claim, that the bail out deal has made the cut in pensions compulsory. They do this because they obviously think they will politically benefit  from a possible reduction of pensions, regardless of the impact this would have in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
