Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon Arrives on Lesbos to Support Refugees

Susan Sarandon_LesvosAmerican Oscar-winner actress Susan Sarandon arrived in Skala Sykamnias in Lesbos, Greece in order to support the refugees that are currently staying on the island. The 69-year-old actress, who is also a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, was accompanied by a TV crew in order to shoot a video regarding the refugee crisis.
Susan Sarandon visited the coastal area Lesbos, she discussed with the volunteers and members of non-governmental organizations operating in the region and took photographs with them.
Before arriving in Lesvos, she posted a picture on her Twitter, with the caption “On my way to Lesbos.” Her presence on the island is not surprising since the actress is known for her general social activity and public interventions on issues that often shock the conservative circles of the American society.
For example, in 2007 Sarandon and her then partner Tim Robbins, along with Jane Fonda participated in an anti-war rally in Washington supporting the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.
