Recently elected New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message to the Greek Diaspora in the United States, asking for their support in creating a “new Greece.” At the same time, he assured them that he was going to do everything in his power so that Diaspora members can have the rights that they were denied.
Mitsotakis published his official message to the Diaspora in the National Herald. He stressed his trust toward national values and the ability of Greeks abroad to save the country from the national decline and obsolescence. He spoke about the people’s “battle” and the role of the Greek Diaspora in this effort. In fact, the New Democracy leader noted that Greek-Americans have shown great dynamism and love for the motherland.
These features will help Greek-Americans create the spark for a “new Greece,” with a competitive market and equal rights for all citizens.
He also stressed that he will always act as a friend and compatriot to the Diaspora, while he will not rest until all Greeks across the globe can enjoy the rights they were denied.
