A 52-year-old man operating a grade school canteen, is prosecuted on a number of child molestation charges.
The man operated a school canteen that belongs to his wife at Gerakas, in the north-east Attica region. He was found sexually molesting a 10-year-old girl and two other children under the age of 12.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested on Friday and he has already appeared in front of public prosecutor Giorgos Noulis, who established the case against him. After being charged with repeated child molestation, he will testify on Wednesday.
Greek police was alerted after a 10-year-old girl confided in her mother on Thursday afternoon about the incidents. The mother notified the police immediately.
The accused allegedly invited the girl to the canteen, closed the door, offered her orange juice and tried to make her take off her top so that he could see her chest. The child told her mother that the man has repeatedly acted in this manner. Over Christmas he offered her snacks from the canteen for free. The child confirmed what had happened in her talks with the police.
The man admitted to the accusation made by the 10-year-old and also confessed that he had also molested two other female students from the 4th and 5th grade. The perpetrator expressed remorse for his actions.
The prosecutor is in the process of identifying the other two victims.
