Will Greece Allow Itself to Be Converted Into a Concentration Camp for Migrants and Refugees?

refugees lesvosConsistent with expert assessments that massive immigration into Europe is unstoppable and that the problem will only get worse in the years ahead, the number of migrants and refugees arriving in Greece in January is over 62,000, according to data released by the International Organization for Migration and reported by Reuters.
This figure is “many, many times what we saw a year ago in the previous January,” IOM spokesman Joel Millman said.
He also added that the number of deaths among migrants in the waters of Greece, Turkey and Italy exceed 360 for the month.
In the meantime, the Greek government has adopted new measures for handling the inflow of migrants and refugees into Greece, which include the conversion of military camps into migrant centers. There is concern indeed among both Greek people and at least some government officials that the country is quietly slated to become one huge concentration camp for migrants and refugees. The concern is more than legitimate as the EU is building a razor-wire fence inside FYROM.
Lest we forget, FYROM is not even a member of the EU, so the euromasters are pulling all stops to stem the inflow of migrants into the core of the continent.
For example, as Paul Mason writes in The Guardian, “a Belgian minister, in an EU negotiation, is alleged – by his Greek counterpart – to have demanded the Greeks “push back or sink” the boats coming from Turkey, in breach of international law. Others in Europe are proposing to criminalize the NGOs that are helping the refugees as they arrive in the islands.”
And speaking of EU’s potential idea of converting Greece into a concentration camp for migrants and refugees, it is worth noting that Germany has already used former Nazi concentration camps to house refugees as well as homeless people.
Stopping the inflow of migrants and refugees into Europe is virtually an impossible task unless the different European countries decide on closing their borders, which would be a form of collective punishment.
Be that as it may, Greece should not be forced to bear an unbearable cost for Europe’s unwillingness or inability to deal with one of the biggest challenges facing the continent since the end of the Second World War.
The Greek people must resist this potential outcome by any means necessary.
