Turkish Warplanes Continue Violations of Greek Airspace

turkish-air-forceSix Turkish fighter jets and two CN-235 maritime patrol aircraft entered successively in Athens FIR on Monday without submitting a flight plan.
The Turkish warplanes violated the Greek airspace 36 times at different points of the Aegean Sea. Athens FIR also recorded five more violations of air traffic regulations.
Seventeen airspace violations were done by one of the two CN-235 aircraft which moved from north to south. The violations took place above the island of Psarra.
In all incidents, the Turkish aircraft were recognized and intercepted by Greek fighter jets. Two of the Turkish aircraft were armed.
This is one of several such incidents that took place this month.
