Varoufakis, a Man for All Seasons, to Advise Britain's Labour Party

varoufakisFormer Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis is advising Britain’s Labour Party on economic matters, its leader Jeremy Corbyn has revealed.
The flamboyant ex-minister, who is considered to have caused massive damage to Greece’s economy during his brief tenure on account of producing a deadlock in the negotiation talks between Greece and its official international creditors, eventually leading to the dreadful capital controls which are still in place, has met with shadow chancellor John McDonnell and will be advising the Labour Party in “some capacity.”
As finance minister, Varoufakis had accused EU leaders of “terrorism” towards Greece for seeking to impose draconian financial measures while the economy was on its breaking point.
Varoufakis has maintained all along that the EU/IMF-prescribed austerity medicine was killing the Greek patient and that the country has no realistic shot at recovering under the current EU economic regime.
Nonetheless, Varoufakis did not advocate Greece’s exit from the euro and admits to being a Europhile.
Jeremy Corbyn said that his party is interested in Varoufakis because of his experience with European Union officials.
Paul Mason, the former Channel 4 journalist and an avid anti-austerity campaigner himself, has also joined “Labour’s economic lecture tour,” according to the Telegraph.
