Greek Minister of Interior Confident That Pension Bill Will Pass

KouroumblisGreek Minister of the Interior and Administrative Reconstruction Panagiotis Kouroumblis expressed his confidence that the government will be able to pass the bill for overhauling Greeceā€™s pension system during an interview to the radio station Athens 9.84.
“Today, the government has the political courage to bear the burden of the pension system and to talk about it. The bill will pass. Do not worry about the rumors regarding the durability of the parliamentary team. There is no problem. I say this emphatically,ā€ said the minister.
ā€œThe problem will be overcome as the problem with the farmersā€™ was overcome. Day by day, we will also manage better the migration crisis, we will conclude the negotiations, and from that point on a new path begins. There is no other choice. This is understood by both parliamentary teams of the governing parties. The talk that we need an ecumenical government has no value.ā€
Regarding the bailout review, the minister of interior repeated the government line, which is that there are differences between Europe and the IMF. ā€œI think the IMF will be convinced to find a common ground. This chapter must close. It must be done by March or April because it is crucial for debt restructuring.ā€
