Brussels Attacks: Key Evidence Found in Athens Flat Used by Paris Attack Suspect

Abdelhamid_Abaud_-_Paris_AttacksA computer and a memory stick containing maps of the Brussels international airport were found in an apartment in Athens where one of the suspected Paris attacks organizers was staying, Belgian media reported on Saturday.
Abdel Hamid Abaaoud, the organizer of the terrorist attack in Paris on November 13, stayed at an apartment in Athens, specifically on Asteropi Street in Pangrati, in January 2015.
Greek authorities had sent all the findings in Abaaoud’s apartment to Belgium during the investigations after the Paris attacks. According to Belgian news agency Belga, among the findings was a USB stick that had maps and plans of Zaventem airport, one of the two targets of this week’s Brussels terrorist attacks.
Belga reported it was unable to verify the information with the Belgian prosecutor’s office.
Abaaoud was killed in a special operation in the Parisian suburb of Saint Denis last November.
The Brussels attacks came days after police arrested Salah Abdeslam, a key conspirator in the Paris attacks that left over 130 people dead.
