Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday chaired a meeting with government ministers and close associates to discuss the refugee issue at his offices in Parliament.
On Wednesday the government is expected to table a draft law in Parliament regulating legal aspects in the implementation of the EU–Turkey agreement. It will also proceed to set up an institution having a supervisory role and upgrade the ministry for migration policy.
The Government Refugee and Migration Policy Council has already approved the plan and timetable for the creation, within 20 days, of facilities that will provide accommodation for another 30,000 refugees and migrants.
The government’s priority is to improve conditions at Idomeni and for this reason it has increased the number of buses to transfer people from Idomeni to the accommodation centers.
