The city of Xanthi is preparing its famous pastry, “the karioka,” for a place in the Guinness World Record.
The pastry makers of Xanthi, produced on Wednesday a traditional karioka that weighs 383 kilos and it will be distributed in pieces on Sunday, during the Commerce Expo that is taking place in the city from March 30 until April 2.
The karioka was made with pure ingredients, while the method of production that was used was the traditional way that is used by most pastry shops in Xanthi.
The Guinness World Record committee may not be present for the event, however the local authorities will make arrangements so that the committee receives a video that will show the process of making, the final stage of the karioka and the distribution of the pastry, in order to receive the relevant certification.
