Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported on Wednesday March 30, that Turkey is preparing to receive 72,000 refugees and migrants from Greece, in relation to the EU–Turkey agreement for the refugee and migrant management.
According to Milliyet’s report, the Immigration Department will construct a center for the refugees in the Delek region in Izmir during the next ten days.
In addition, the refugees and migrants will be relocated to camps on the Greek island of Medley before being transferred to Delek from April 4, the paper reported.
Lastly, according to Milliyet, sources in the Turkish Refugees Department said that the refugees and migrants will be offered identity cards and will have their fingerprints taken within 24 hours of their arrival. After that, they will be able to stay in the camps or join their relatives in Turkey.
