A recent survey conducted by the University of Macedonia (PAMAK), revealed that New Democracy party (ND) has increased its lead over SYRIZA to eight points.
The poll was conducted between March 29th and 30th. The survey found that 24.5% of the participants would vote for ND (24,5%) in a national election ahead of SYRIZA (16.5%), while the Greek Communist Party (KKE) and Golden Dawn came in third place with 6.5 %. PASOK and the Union of Centrists would receive 4% of the vote according to the same poll.
2.5% of the participants said that they would vote for the current government coalition partner Independent Greeks (ANEL)To Potami would get 1,5% of the vote the same as the Popular Unity that split from SYRIZA in 2015 .
PAMAK’s poll indicated that ND’s leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis prevailed on Tuesday’s Parliament meeting on corruption, justice and conflict of interests, in comparison to current Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
The survey was published several days after ND demanded elections “to prevent the country from reaching a dead-end.”
