A gangland killing occurred an hour after midnight on Thursday, in the area of Alimos, Athens. The victim of the crime was the owner of a night club on Syngrou Avenue.
The police are investigating the possibility of two guns possibly used in the killing. According to information revealed so far, the victim was entering a car when the perpetrators approached him and started shooting.
On the windscreen of the car there were 14 bullet marks. The club-owner had been arrested in 2004 for a case involving drugs and was released in 2009. The police officers on the scene found that the car that the owner was entering did not belong to him, but to someone else who had also been arrested for a drug case as well.
Several moments after the body was found, police officers from the DIAS squad found a half-burned BMW in the area, which contained a Kalashnikov and a gun; the authorities are investigating whether the car and guns are linked to the businessman’s murder.
