Missing 3-Year-Old Girl Found, Police Suspect Kidnapping

girlThree-and-a-half-year-old Maria-Eirini Printezi who went missing on Sunday afternoon was found on Monday by Hellenic Coast Guard officers in near Athens, Greece.
Reportedly, according to Coast Guard officials, the first words the girl said were, “They let me go.” Young Maria-Eirini was found wandering around 1:30 pm on the side of the Athens-Corinth national highway in the Elefsina area.
The girl had disappeared at the Skaramangas area where she was celebrating Easter Sunday with her family. Greek Police issued an alert and NGO “Smile of the Child” launched a wide media and social media campaign in order to find Maria-Eirini.
Police searches were carried out at the Skaramangas gypsy camp and the nearby Schisto migrant hospitality camp. Investigations proved fruitless.
After finding the girl, police officials said they suspect Maria-Eirini was kidnapped but the widespread publicity of the issue scared kidnappers and forced them to release her.
