A 5-year-old boy was killed in a village near Kozani, northern Greece, after he was attacked by two Rottweilers while celebrating Easter Sunday with his family.
“It was around 2 in the afternoon and I heard a child play from the neighbor’s house, where they had a gathering. Suddenly, I heard three shrieks of terror coming from the child. Then the shrieks stopped. Then I saw a woman pulling her hair. The owner had come out and tried to pull the dogs off the child. His mother was screaming. Then they put the boy in a car and took him to the hospital. The dogs were wild. They bit the child. My wife saw the dogs lifting the boy in the air,” a neighbor told kozan.gr
According to the website, the two dogs tore down their enclosure’s fence and attacked the 5-year-old, biting him on the neck and other body parts.
The boy was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds after 45 minutes of surgery.
The boy and his family were celebrating Easter at the 72-year-old dog owner’s house. The owner was taken into custody, while the dogs were taken to the pound.
