New Images for Cigarette Packs in Greece

As of May 20, the regulation regarding smoking and the visual representation along with textual warnings placed on cigarette packs will be implemented in Greece, which is one of the last countries in the EU that have not activated the law.
Greece is one of the last countries that will implement the regulation, as starting tomorrow, the production of the new packages starts which is expected to reach the market and consumers after several weeks.
According to the regulation, 65% of the packages’ surface will be covered by deterring for smoking images and texts. Recently, the image “gallery” with which all tobacco industries must produce their packages has been completed, including 42 horrifying images.
The aim of the European authorities is to prevent young people from smoking.
