This morning the entrance to a branch of the Labor Ministry in Athens city center was blocked by a group of self-styled anarchists. In protest of the latest social security reforms, they have draped a banner on the front of the building where certain Labor Ministry services are housed.
It is reported that police have dispatched to the location of the government building inĀ response to a postsĀ on an anti-establishment’s website, āAnarchist Assembly on Social and Class Emancipation,āĀ which claims to represent the group assembled. They have called for protesters to assemble in front of the building later in the day. Police are on stand-by to prevent incidents of violence andĀ vandalism. According to some accounts there have been up to a dozen protesters entering the building.
