Leftist SYRIZA deputy Anna Vagena compared Greece’s future to the Turkish Occupation of Greece during her interview with private radio station, Stigma 97.6. “We are not afraid of 99 years of privatizations,” she said. “Greece endured 400 years of slavery during Ottoman empire. Greek people have great strength.”
In the same interview, she referred to Greece’s public sector as a paradise of lazy people. “Everyone’s dream was to be hired in the public sector,” she said. “And once we managed to get it, we would say, ‘Okay, let’s get a second job now.’ The public sector has ended up being the paradise of lazy people.”
