Horseback Riding Tours on Hydra

harriets hydra horse toursHydra is an enchanting Greek island known for its restaurants lining the main port and the inevitable flashback to the turn of the century and beyond as there are no cars allowed on the island. The charm of the winding narrow pathways that lace the city are one way to experience Hydra. However, for those looking for an alternative view of the island, Harriet’s Hydra Horses is the tour to book.
It all started in 2014 when expat Harriet Jarman started Harriet’s Hydra Horses. This has given her the opportunity to bring together her horses, who are her pets and like family to her, with tourists visiting Hydra who wish to experience amazing tours of Hydra’s mountains, churches, monasteries and beaches on horseback.
Having grown up on Hydra, Harriet is fluent in both English and Greek and offers guided tours in both languages. Everything is ready for you as the horses are fully trained trekking horses, riding saddles and helmets are provided. All you need to do is book a tour!
There are 10 different treks to choose from ranging from tours of 1 hour to 8 hours long. They are very reasonably priced, for more information about the treks and prices see: http://www.hydradirect.com/out-about/harrietshydrahorses/trek-details/
Usually the tours are for 1-5 people, however, if pre-arranged 6-100 people are welcomed to a group tour. Also if you are getting married on Hydra you can book a bridal horse. Harriet actually accompanies the horse to be sure that everything goes off without a hitch on your wedding day. A truly memorable experience!
