Nikos Kotzias: Greece Has Requested a Plan B from the EC Regarding the Refugee Issue

kotziasGreece has requested an alternative plan from the European Commision in case the EU-Turkey agreement regarding the refugee and migrant issue goes awry, Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Kotzias, revealed in an interview at Proto Programma.

However, Kotzias admitted that Turkey has so far supported all parameters of the agreement and described it as “positive” , by highlighting that there has been great management in the refugee flows.

Focusing further on the refugee and migrant issue, Kotzias highlighted Europe’s need to have a processed alternative plan and noted that such an issue is a result and not the cause of problems. “The refugee wave is the result of wars in Libya, Syria, Iraq and the poverty of the area and the only one who is not responsible for this are countries like Greece,” Kotzias said and added that “it’s the others’ fault, so they must realize that they have to contribute to dealing with the problem.”
