Latest Arrivals in Lesvos Cause Alert

On Saturday and Sunday night, three boats with refugees and migrants off the shores of Northern Lesvos and in the open sea of Mytilene have caused worries to authorities, ANA MPA reports.
For the past 10 days, less than 50 people have reached Mytilene – this changed the past few days. In addition, the harsh area of Ancient Assos right across the region of Skala Sykamnias and Molyvos, where last year thousands of refugees and migrants started arriving, after a relevantly “quiet” period, there is again mobility.
Last night 60 people got off at the port of Mythimnas, who were picked up by a Coast Guard boat. Today, a boat with 35 people reached Skala Sykamnias, while at the same time in the open sea of Mytilene, a Coast Guard boat located a boat with 13 refugees and migrants.

According to the latest registration this morning, the total amount of refugees and migrants around Greece is at 57,141 people. Based on this data, 212 new arrivals were recorded on the islands of Northern Aegean, where 8,430 people stay.
