Greece Ranks Second in Defense Spending in NATO

natoOn Monday, figures were released showing Greece as having the second highest spending in NATO, second to the U.S.
NATO alliance released the figures showing that there were only five other countries in the group whose annual spending on defense exceeds 2 percent of their gross domestic product, unsettling news for the financially turmoiled country.
The numbers reflect that the U.S. spends 3.61 proportion of GDP while Greece trails behind at 2.38 percent.
The other three countries of the top five ranking countries that spend the largest percent in proportion to GDP are the UK at 2.21 percent, Estonia at 2.16 percent and Poland at 2 percent.
