Last Migrants Leave Piraeus Port for Proper Facilities

peiraias708_2The remaining migrants who had camped out at Piraeus Port left on Wednesday, after camping there for several months.
According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, since early in the morning, more than 400 migrants departed from Piraeus Port to destinations of their choice, while 50 of them were transferred to migrant hospitality camps in Trikala and 18 in Oinofyta.
According to data from the Coordinating Body for Refugees, on Monday, July 25, there were 1,039 registered migrants and refugees at Piraeus Port. On Tuesday, the number went down to 887 and on Wednesday there were 426 left.
By afternoon on Wednesday, there were no migrants and refugees at Piraeus Port and the port authority proceeded with cleaning the premises and surrounding areas.
