Greek Basketball Players Get Involved in New Startup Company

lazaros-papadopoulosThe Thessaloniki startup company Athlenda has managed to complete its first round of financing, reaching up to 200,000 euros, with retired Greek basketball players Lazaros Papadopoulos, Thodoris Papaloukas and Kostas Papanikolaou backing it.
Lazaros Papadopoulos has enlisted the help of his old teammates in order to bring the startup company to life, while this move appears to have piqued the interest of other retired players and athletes.
Athlenda is an online platform that combines the features of a scouting engine, with those of social media, bringing together athletes of all sports and all levels, with people and organizations that can play a positive role in the development of their sports career.
The platform was name Athlenda in order to promote the idea of an athletic agenda, and its main goal is to improve the selection process for athletes, by providing equal opportunities to everyone, despite their social, geographical and economic background.
Finally, it is worth noting that Athlenda was among the ten finalists of the Hellenic Entrepreneurship Award, along with the Greek social media for sports, ChampionsID.
