According to the National Meteorological Agency (EMY), Greece is expected to experience a mini-heat wave lasting from Monday until Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to reach 38-39 degrees celsius with northern winds remaining mild throughout the country, and reaching stronger speeds over the Aegean Sea, the EMY reports.
The temperature will vary throughout the mainland and islands, ranging anywhere from 25-37 degrees celsius through the day in Attica, while in Thessaloniki it will range between 23 and 36 degrees celsius.
Some relief from the heat is due on Wednesday, as temperatures are expected to drop a few degrees.
