All 3 Greek Clubs With One Foot in Europa League Group Stage

footAll three teams representing Greece completed victoriously the first leg of the Europa League playoffs for the group stage, thereby keeping Greece in 15th place of international football.
The current ranking means that for the 2018-2019 season, Greece will be represented by five clubs in the Europan Cups, two for the Champions League playoffs and three for the Europa League playoffs.
Panathinakos had an easy night in Athens beating Denmark’s Brondby 3-0 after a very good performance. Earlier PAOK had left the Dinamo Tbilisi ground with the same victorious score, leaving no hope to the Georgian club.
Olympiacos, on the other hand, was only slightly better than first comers to European tournaments Arouca. They beat the Portuguese team 1-0.
The victories for Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and PAOK gave Greece 0,600 points, bringing it very close to Croatia and the Netherlands.
Romania, currently in 16th place, is not likely to pose a threat to Greece’s standing as it will likely continue to the Europa League with one team only (Steaua).
Each victory gives two points and each draw one point. The points are divided by the number of initial representatives of each country in the European tournaments (five in the case of Greece and Romania, four in the case of Croatia).
