Germany: Yes, We Will Return Refugees to Greece Says Ministry Spokesperson

refff-708_0The German interior ministry reiterated a previous statement by Minister Thomas de Maizière that under the Dublin Agreement, Germany can send refugees back to Greece.
The question to the German ministry was posed by the Athens News Agency (ANA-MPA). The reply of a ministry spokesperson was that Germany can send back refugees who are already in Germany, under the Dublin Regulation.
Specifically, the spokesperson told ANA-MPA that: “The return to Greece, in case deportations to Greece resume, refers to persons for whom Germany, up to this moment, was not responsible, because transfer from one member state to another was not possible.”
Regarding the number of refugees concerned, the German spokesperson noted that there can not be reliable reports yet, because the migration activity may have changed by then.
