ipatitida708A Greek worker in a migrant camp and two refugee children were diagnosed with Hepatitis A, bringing the total number of those affected to 15.
The three new cases of Hepatitis A appeared in the New Kavala refugee accommodation facility.
One of the children, a six-year-old, is still hospitalized in the pediatric clinic of the General Hospital of Kilkis, while the other was discharged. The worker was also discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, 15 employees at a Thessaloniki hospital where refugees have been treated, tested positive in Mantoux tuberculosis diagnostic tests, according to Executive Secretary of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN), Petros Ketikidis.
Ketikidis spoke to Athens News Agency (ANA-MPA) saying that, according to reports, the majority of workers tested positive for tuberculosis in a Thessaloniki hospital, the names of which, however, he refused to reveal for obvious reasons.
“In the screening tests conducted, the employees were found positive to tuberculosis,” Ketikidis told ANA-MPA. However, he said, tuberculosis can be easily treated with the proper medication if diagnosed early.
