On Wednesday, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras remembered the Greek victims of genocide in Asia Minor, which is marked annually on September 14, saying that historical memory remains alive in multiple Tweets on his Twitter account.
“September 14th, National Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of the Greeks of Asia Minor, reminds us of an important piece of our history: The uprooting and exile,” Tsipras said in a post on the prime minister’s official Twitter account.
“Historical memory remains alive, strengthening our values,” he added.
