Anarchist group Rouvikonas staged a sit-in at the central offices of inspectors of the Transport Ministry on Thursday.
The group, protesting public ticket inspections, posted a statement on an anti-establishment website on Thursday that called on inspectors to cease carrying out checks and allow “the poor to get away with it.” Passengers were advised to pass on their tickets to other travelers at the end of their journey and warn fellow passengers of the presence of inspectors.
The group also protested the behavior of inspectors towards passengers without tickets, pointing to the death of Thanasis Kanaoutis, aged 19, two years ago as well as the incident with a young woman from Thessaloniki who was grabbed by a conductor by the ankle as she dangled outside a bus window (see video below).

The police finally broke up the occupation of the office and ten people were detained.
