Another Poll Shows New Democracy Leading in Voters' Preference

tsipras-mitsotakisNew Democracy leads in yet another voting intention poll, this time being 8 percentage points ahead of SYRIZA, with leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis appearing more popular than Alexis Tsipras.
The survey was conducted by Pulse on behalf of iefimerida.gr news website. It shows that 30.5% of participants would vote for New Democracy and 22.5% for SYRIZA, if elections were held today.
However, almost one in four participants (23%) would either abstain, cast a blank vote, or hasn’t decided who to vote for yet.
The poll was conducted on September 20-21, after the two party leaders spoke during the Thessaloniki International Fair. Usually, during the fair, political leaders present their party program.
The Pulse survey shows that the conservative party leader was the winner. Only 25% of participants said they were convinced by the “fair growth” plan presented by Tsipras, when 40% of participants rated favorably the Mitsotakis program under the title “an agreement of truth.”
In specific questions, participants favored Mitsotakis for being “substantive,” more “honest,” making them “feel more optimistic” and overall more preferable on the prime minister’s seat.
